Biography:
Joy Martinello is a woman with many talents who has tried her hand at many things. Actress, improv comedienne, singer, screenwriter, restaurant manager, adventure travel agent, and boutique owner are just a few. Emotional difficulties, boredom, sadness about the state of the world, and what many might call “failures” have plagued her at every turn, yet throughout her challenges she has been gathering data. A lifetime of risk-taking and a passion for authenticity have molded Joy into someone who calls herself, “an emotional athlete.” She’s traveled around the world and listened to her inner wisdom to find the emotional tools she’s needed to survive. The ideas Joy puts forth in The Feel Better Guide are ground-breaking and controversial. She’s asking for nothing less than a shift in culture and she’s turning the way people think about emotions on its head. Joy has a B.A. in Theater from Tufts University, lives in Portland, Oregon and performs each year with a parade troupe, Risk of Change at the Oregon Country Fair.
